Yoshitomo Nara (b. 1959, Aomori Prefecture, Japan) studied at Aichi University of the Arts before continuing his education at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, later returning to Japan in 2000; since the late 1990s, his work has been exhibited internationally.
He is best known for his psychologically charged portraits featuring childlike figures with confrontational gazes, as well as drawings, sculptures, and installations. Rooted in introspection and influenced by music, travel, and everyday experience, his practice explores memory, emotion, and solitude, resulting in works that transcend cultural boundaries and resonate with a broad global audience.
Accompanied by a dust bag customized by Yoshitomo Nara and signed and dated 'Nara 2026'.
A portion of the proceeds from this sale will go in support of UNESCO Japan.
