2005 EX Delta Species Shiny Metagross Gold Star #113 Holo, CGC Pristine 10

Gold Stars are among the greatest rarities of the EX era. Identified by the small star beside the Pokémon’s name and distinctive alternate artwork with gold-flecked foil, they were seeded at a rate that made pulling one a defining moment for a collector.

Metagross is 113/113—the final card in EX Delta Species—and one of the Gold Stars collected as much for its artwork as the character.

The grading of this card is what makes it exceptionally rare. CGC Pristine 10 sits above Gem Mint 10, requiring 50/50 centering and a card that presents essentially flawlessly to the naked eye, front and back. On a twenty-year-old foil card with a dark border, where even minor whitening or surface wear shows immediately, it is a designation very few examples receive.
