1999 Pokémon Fossil Factory-Sealed Booster Box

Fossil was the third English-language expansion published by Wizards of the Coast, arriving in October 1999 as Pokémon was becoming a cultural phenomenon. Its 62 cards pushed the Kanto Pokédex toward its stranger edges: the three Legendary Birds, Aerodactyl reanimated from amber, Dragonite, Lapras, Muk, and the Gengar line that has carried the set’s reputation ever since.

What makes a box like this scarce is not how many were produced, but how few survived intact. Booster boxes made in 1999 were intended to be opened on shop counters, their packs sold and their contents dispersed. Sealed examples consequently represent only a fraction of the original production, and those that reach the market are judged by details photographs alone cannot always resolve: the tightness and originality of the factory shrink wrap, the crush at the corners, and the integrity of the bottom seam.

Consigned unopened with its original factory wrap intact, this box preserves the set exactly as it was offered more than twenty-five years ago. All 36 packs remain sealed, so no one knows which cards are inside.

Contains 36 Pokémon Fossil 1st Edition packs, each with 11 cards. Chase cards include 1st Edition holos of Dragonite, Gengar, Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres, among others.
