John Dove's punk-era boots, drawn from his personal wardrobe across the late 1970s and early 1980s. The spiked pairs were made by a small London workshop producing originally for the gay leather scene in 1975, with stock subsequently moving through SEX at 430 King's Road from 1976 onwards, Dove and White's own Kitsch-22, and BOY at 153 King's Road, where they remained on offer into the early 1980s and were featured in the BOY Blackmail catalogue Dove and White published with John Krivine in 1980. The boots are documented as having been worn by Dove and his contemporaries at the gigs and shop circuits of the punk and post-punk years.
