From the collection of Elizabeth Taylor, this show-stopping cocktail ring, created and owned by the legendary Elizabeth Taylor and later held in the personal collection of renowned jeweler Lorraine Schwartz, features a luminous gray South Sea pearl at its center. Framed by a halo of round cut white diamonds, the design is a masterclass in glamour and bold femininity. A sculptural three-row diamond-set band completes the piece, adding brilliance and architectural elegance from every angle. Near round South Sea pearls of this size and color are exceptionally rare—but rarer still is the story behind this piece.
Lorraine recalls being invited to Taylor’s home after a chance introduction, where she presented her designs bedside to the actress. That moment marked the beginning of years of shared holidays, meaningful conversations, and an enduring friendship rooted in their mutual love of jewelry. Following Taylor’s passing, she acquired several pieces through Elizabeth's Christie's auction, preserving their connection.
Taylor often told Lorraine that she commemorated every important moment in her life with a piece of jewelry—a personal ritual that transformed her collection into a vivid reflection of her experiences. It was a personal tradition: each piece in her collection told a story, marking a milestone, a triumph, or a transformation. This ring and its remarkable history stand as a radiant symbol of memory, legacy and the unique ability of jewelry to preserve life’s most meaningful moments.
