Pokémon Silver arrived in North America on October 15, 2000, eleven months after its Japanese release. It introduced 100 new species, a real-time day-and-night cycle, breeding, held items, and an entire second region layered onto the original game. It helped establish Pokémon as a global cultural phenomenon.

The game was made to be opened, but this one never was. Tens of millions of copies were sold worldwide, yet very few remain sealed today. The box’s “Made in Japan” line is also a production marker of the period, used by graders to distinguish between print runs.

Graded 9.8 with an A++ seal, this copy has survived 26 years with remarkably little evidence of age. PSA grades sealed games separately for the box and factory seal: 9.8 is just below a perfect box grade, while A++ is the highest seal designation.

Two examples have achieved 9.8 with an A++ seal at PSA. Population report accurate at the time of listing and subject to change.
