Dragon Ball GT Super Saiyan 4 Goku and Omega Shenron Original Production Cel with Matching Douga (1997)

On September 17, 1997, Dragon Ball GT aired Episode 59, released in English as “Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta.” In it, Syn Shenron swallows the remaining six Dragon Balls and becomes Omega Shenron, the final antagonist of the series. Goku, outmatched, prepares to self-destruct rather than lose.

This cel captures the two at the series’ climax, with Super Saiyan 4 Goku in the foreground and Omega Shenron behind him. They share a frame only in GT’s final stretch—and nowhere else in the Dragon Ball series. Two months later, Dragon Ball GT was over, along with the original hand-painted era of Dragon Ball animation.

The lot pairs the finished production cel, marked A3, with its matching original drawing. The douga is the animator’s original artwork; the cel is the finished frame photographed for the episode. Most pairs were separated during production. Here, both survive together.
