Dragon Ball Kid Buu “Human Extinction Attack” Oversized Opening Production Cel with Key-Matching Hand Painted Production Background (1997)

This oversized production setup captures Kid Buu at full extension, one arm raised overhead just before he unleashes the Human Extinction Attack. The cel was created for the hand-animated opening Toei produced for Dragon Ball: Final Bout, released for PlayStation in Japan on August 21, 1997.

The roughly 90-second sequence arrived as Dragon Ball was nearing the end of its original run—and as hand-painted animation itself was giving way to digital production. This frame appears at approximately 0:41, cut to Hironobu Kageyama’s “Biggest Fight.”

The scale is impressive, but the completeness of this lot is what makes it extraordinary. Offered here is the full setup as it appeared under the camera: the character cel together with its key-matching hand-painted background. A prized piece of Dragon Ball production history.
