On June 24, 2001, One Piece aired Episode 73, “Broggy’s Bitter Tears of Victory! The Conclusion of Elbaf!” Directed by Konosuke Uda and written by Junki Takegami, it adapted Chapters 119 and 120 of Eiichiro Oda’s manga and brought the Little Garden arc to its conclusion. Offered here is the original Japanese production script for the episode.
Its pages capture Dorry and Brogy, the giants of Elbaf, in the final round of their century-long battle. Mr. 3 has rigged the contest, but neither knows it. Gravely wounded, Dorry pins Luffy beneath a boulder before facing Brogy one last time. Brogy strikes him down, believing he has won fairly, and breaks into tears—only for Mr. 3 to encase his legs in wax while he mourns his friend.
Twenty-five years later, Elbaf is no longer just a name. The distant homeland became a destination in the series itself, and in 2026 Dorry and Brogy returned in live action in One Piece: Into the Grand Line. This is the working document from the episode that first put Elbaf on the map.
Issued by Toei Animation and Fuji Television for the production team, the script features an illustrated cover of Luffy, Zoro, and Nami aboard the Going Merry. Made for the animation team—not for commercial release—the reverse states that it may not be sold, lent, or reproduced.
